The subject of the Graduation Project is the design of a Faculty of Architecture and Design to be realized in Istanbul Karaköy Perşembe Pazarı.
Within the scope of the graduation project, which I attended at the invitation of my dear Prof. Dr. Semra Aydınlı, and dear Dr. Demet Mutman Uluengin, I conducted a presentation telling the production and trade ecosystem of craft neighborhoods such as Perşembe Pazarı and their importance for the city. The title of the seminar I gave was "Istanbul Craft Neighborhoods 'Perşembe Bazaar' Opportunities for Architecture and Design Education."

In the seminar, I conveyed the characteristics of Istanbul Craft Neighborhoods, the place of Perşembe Pazarı within the city, the production and trade ecosystem, the threats encountered in different periods, the large-scale plans developed for the region, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Beyoğlu Spatial Strategy Plan, and various other visions. After presenting the Made in Şişhane Project and its steps, as well as different sub-projects such as Open Source Perşembe Pazarı Işıklı İşler, which support the sustainability of craft zones, I concluded my presentation with the following questions addressed to the participating students:
What is the perception of Perşembe Pazarı in terms of the sustainability of its existing communities, relationships, and productions?
What is your dream of an architecture and design education and school?
How will the project Faculty of Architecture and Design establish a relationship with its surroundings?
How will be a part of the production, object, trade, material, and urban ecosystem of Perşembe Bazaar?
And what could be a program and space proposal reflecting this? What is our vision for this region?
